  Maureen Alvarado

  DO

  Dr. Maureen Alvarado knew at an early age that she wanted to become a physician. “To me, it is very rewarding to be able to improve the quality of life and health outcomes of my patients,” she says. She aims to treat her patients like family and wants them to know that she genuinely cares about them. “We create and execute treatment plans together, I follow through and listen,” she explains. Dr. Alvarado is a strong proponent for preventative medicine and healthcare accessibility. “I enjoy assisting, advocating, and representing our seniors,” she says. When not caring for patients, Dr. Alvarado can be found enjoying time with her family by the ocean. She shares that she is “an introvert at heart.”

  Aftaab Aliahmad

  MD

  Having grown up in a small town in Guyana, South America, Dr. Aftaab Aliahmad says that he “witnessed fi rsthand the eff ects of not having access to proper medical care.” He explains, “My drive and goal is to be able to provide the best medical care that I possibly can.” He strives to guide patients through their health journey by thoroughly explaining everything. “My absolute favorite part is when I am able to give good news to my patients as they achieve their health goals,” he says. He enjoys building relationships with patients. “I make sure I get to know more than what’s on the paper but who they are as people,” he says. In his free time, Dr. Aliahmad loves spending time with family. He also enjoys playing cricket and charades.

  Karina Bishop

  MD

  Dr. Karina Bishop is passionate about helping the senior population and says her favorite part of being a physician is keeping older adults as independent as possible”. She explains, “I empower them to take control of their medical health by making small changes in diet and activity.” She enjoys talking with her patients and listening to their stories. “I get to learn more about their life every visit,” she says. To keep up with the ever-evolving world of medicine, she attends conferences and listens to podcasts. If she could change anything about the current healthcare system, she would lower costs. When not caring for patients, Dr. Bishop can be found biking, gardening, or traveling. She also enjoys cooking.

  Wander Hurtado Martinez

  MD

  Dr. Wander Hurtado Martinez believes that the strongest doctor-patient relationships are “based on trust, empathy, and love.” He aims to not only improve the physical and mental health of his patients but also improve their overall quality of life. “I like to treat my patients as my own family members,” he says. He was particularly drawn to care for the senior population as they are the sickest population in the United States. He adds that he reads every day to keep up with the ever-evolving world of medicine. When not caring for patients, Dr. Hurtado Martinez can be found staying active in the gym or spending quality time with family and friends. He also enjoys playing chess and watching movies.

  Omeche Idoko-Forrester

  Dr. Omeche Idoko-Forrester has always had an interest in science and medicine. “I enjoyed caring for sick family members and nursing them back to health,” she explains. She loves serving as each patient’s “greatest cheerleader.” She adds, “I believe in health advocacy and empowering my patients to achieve better health outcomes.” She loves building genuine connections with patients, explaining that she likes taking the time to listen to her patients’ health stories. “I share my personal health story to encourage and relate to my patient’s experiences,” she adds. When not with patients, Dr. Idoko-Forrester can be found enjoying time with her husband, family, and friends. She also likes traveling, crocheting, and playing video games.
